If you’re reading this, then you probably found North Star through a friend or a quick search looking for branding or website design services online.
Well, you’ve landed in the right place and I want to take some time and let you know a little more about North Star and how we can help you create a tool to grow your business.
In this series, “The North Star Journey”, we’ll talk about how my team got to ‘now’ and I’ll be sharing top tips on how to leverage your brand and create a purpose-built website.
Create a Tool to Grow Your Business
One of the biggest complaints I hear from clients who sought out the infamous ‘$5’ logo or ‘$500’ website is this:
“I don’t really know what they did or what should have happened. We gave them money and they gave us a design. But we don’t know if it’s working for me and it doesn’t feel like it represents our business at all. Maybe our [brand/website] can move the needle for our business, but we don’t really know how to make that happen, or what that even looks like.”
As the phrase goes, you don’t know what you don’t know.
Starting a Business
When I moved to Milford, CT and opened the doors to North Star several years ago, I made a promise to myself and to any client I might work with in the future — North Star will offer a collaborative experience.
After working in agency environments for over a decade, I noticed a worrying pattern. Their only focus was on what was good for the agency, rarely was it a ‘client first’ approach. I wanted to create an option that focused on the clients (and their team) first.
That’s where the name North Star comes from as well. I’m a bit of a science nerd and North Star Design Studio is all about collaboration.
Polaris, the “North Star”, is a cluster of three stars. Two orbit so closely that they send material and share energy with each other. The third orbits more widely around that pair, ‘amplifying’ their cosmic effects. In essence, they collaborate which allows them to burn the brightest in our night sky.
My team approaches branded design and website development the same way.
Every company that hires North Star Design Studio to create or update its website and brand are part of a collaboration. We work together to amplify the best we have to offer from both sides of the equation.
I share my knowledge and expertise. My team of experts builds the structure the client needs. And the client discovers the many ways their site can be a tool for their business while sharing in the process.
Everyone wins.
In the next “The North Star Journey” segment, I’ll dive deeper into this with a recent client story of how they increased their fundraising efforts with their website redesign, during a pandemic.
